The Swiss Innovation Challenge is taking place again this year and Vanillaplan is taking part!

The Swiss Innovation Challenge was founded in 2014 by the Baselland Chamber of Commerce, the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and the Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank. Since then, innovative start-ups and SMEs from all over Switzerland have competed against each other in the Swiss Innovation Challenge every year. The competition takes place in three phases spread over the year. Each phase ends with a pitch before a jury, and only the best participants go through to the next round. At the end, the three most innovative companies are honoured. This year there are also two special prizes, one for «Life Sciences» and one for «Construction».

But the Swiss Innovation Challenge is not only a competition: participants are supported by coaches and mentors. Participants also have the opportunity to attend various seminars. In short, the Swiss Innovation Challenge is start-up support through competition.

On 1 April 2020 the Swiss Innovation Challenge officially began with an online kick-off meeting, necessitated by the pandemic. This year there are over 120 interesting participants, one of them being Vanillaplan. After the Startup Academy Basel suggested that we take part in the competition, and following an interesting conversation with Stefan Philippi, one of the operational directors of the Swiss Innovation Challenge, we were determined to take part.

We are already looking forward to the competition and to the first pitch in the first week of June. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
