At 9:30 we set off together from our office in Basel in our hired minibus. Fortified with a coffee and a croissant, we made our way to Huttwil to our first stop: Habisreutinger Gebäudehülle GmbH, which specialises in roofing work. We were given a very warm welcome by Bruno Habisreutinger and he gave us a fascinating tour of their business. This allowed us to add some interesting details to our knowledge and also gave us an insight into the company's way of working. We found it particularly interesting that Habisreutinger pre-produces the majority of their metalwork in the workshop, which makes the work largely independent of external influences such as the weather. And they do not only pre-produce for their own needs: Habisreutinger places great value on working with other roofing firms and produces semi-finished parts for them, for example.
Besides the quality of his work, team spirit is fundamental for Bruno Habisreutinger: respect, tolerance, helpfulness, motivation, fun and a solution-oriented approach to work are for him the cornerstones of constructive collaboration.
We also found the use of Vanillaplan on site very interesting: our digital display board stands in the entrance area, clearly visible to everyone. Bruno Habisreutinger has been using Vanillaplan since 2020 and what he likes most is the forward-looking planning it makes possible. His employees particularly appreciate the quick overview of their assignments.
After visiting Habisreutinger we drove to Schötz and enjoyed lunch together with beef olives, burgers and saffron risotto.
After this refreshment we made our way to Renggli AG, which specialises in timber construction and whose production plant is likewise based in Schötz. Patrick Egli was already waiting for us here and showed us round the business. Renggli AG also relies on prefabrication and so we were able to watch single-family and apartment houses taking shape in their workshop. What we found particularly impressive here was the combination of machine production and manual work: the automation of processes makes production very effective, while the manual work means it does not lose any of its individuality. We also found it extremely fascinating to see the fabrication process from the individual timber element through to the finished house, all under one roof.
After many impressions from both areas, we rounded off the afternoon with an after-work beer in Sursee. A thoroughly successful day!
