The young web agency jkweb was founded by Pascal Josephy and Jeremias Kläui in 2011. The firm is now a public limited company and employs over 30 motivated young staff. The multidisciplinary team of graphic designers and developers builds websites flexibly and with enthusiasm for well-known customers: Novartis, the University of Basel or the ETH Entrepreneur Club, but also for start-ups: MyCamper or Working Bicycle, to name just a few project names.
Their focus is on the design and programming of simple or elaborate websites
In addition, their well-trained developers build complex web applications tailored to their customers' requirements. These include solutions involving databases, API interfaces, frameworks and more.
In spring of this year we decided to expand our software development capacity and turned to jkweb for the development of a generic interface. The timing was ideal and Elias Bernhaut from jkweb has been supporting us since April. After training as an IT specialist (EFZ) he completed his bachelor's degree in computer science at the University of Zurich and is now a member of the jkweb team.
But what is a generic interface? Our concept is to create an independent interface in order to exchange any data between a wide variety of systems on a time- and/or event-driven basis. The task was not entirely straightforward, but the first breakthrough has been made. Event data from Vanillaplan can be replicated into a Google calendar. Further interfaces from various systems are now being connected to the generic interface so that data can be exchanged freely.
Remi and Elias communicate several times a week by video conference and jointly determine the next programming steps. That works very well.
Elias also helped us work out a graphical representation for our website. That was quite tricky. Thanks to his idea the problem could be solved elegantly.

We came across the company jkweb by a roundabout route. While looking for a web agency we were put in touch with jkweb by a start-up we are friends with. At a first meeting with Pascal Josephy it became clear that jkweb is not only a web agency but also builds complex web applications for customers.
