Want to break down large projects, such as a block of flats, into several floors as sub-projects – and then split these down further? No problem – with our new project splitting feature.
Here’s how it works:
👉 Create a project that you want to split.
🔹 Name it, for example ‘Liestal Apartment Block’, and enter an identification number for a clearer overview.
🔹 You also select the phases you wish to split later. To do this, specify the effort per phase and set the start and end dates.
👉 Now click on the ‘Split project into lots’ button in the top right-hand corner of the toolbar. Here you can configure how the project split should look.
🔹 You specify the number of sub-projects and indicate which one should be started first. You also name your sub-project here – for example, as ‘Part’, ‘Lot’ or ‘Stage’, or you can choose your own name, here, for example, floor 1.
🔹 Under ‘Project Phases’, you can see the default effort and project duration for each phase. Use the tick box to indicate which phases you wish to split.
🔹 Under ‘Sub-projects’, you can click on your sub-projects to view the effort and project duration. The effort is distributed evenly – you can change this at any time. The project duration of the sub-projects follows on directly from one another – this can also be changed.
🔹 Finally, save by clicking ‘OK’.
👉 If you click the ‘Go to project structure’ button, you’ll see an overview of all the sub-projects you’ve created for the project.
👉 You can further subdivide sub-projects, such as ‘Floor 1’ in this example. To do this, open the sub-project, click on ‘Divide project into lots’ and follow the same steps as before.
Have fun trying it out!
